Tom & Carolyn once described to me envisioning their wedding day as a culmination of the beautiful life they've created thus far - fulfillment, gratitude, pride, accomplishment.

As the buzz of alarms from the Governor permeated the morning soundtrack and the subway closed its gates, Carolyn continued her hair and makeup as if she had no concern that anything could disrupt her wedding day. Dignified, and iconic.

Held at The Enchanted Barn, an aptly named small town Wisconsin venue, James & Aurora's wedding day was all their own. The way they embraced their free-spirited nature made for a permeable energy.

This was the most chill wedding I have ever been to - ever! And they did it without sacrificing the fun wedding details, like captivating florals and decor, or by ditching every last tradition. I think the magic is just how true they stayed to the who and the why - of James & Aurora.

I've always viewed wedding photography as an opportunity to explore and preserve family legacy... the art of caregiving through the generations. I have so many of my own memories flipping through my grandparents wedding album, and endless shoeboxes of polaroids.

A natural canvas full of texture makes these Black Cat pieces feel right at home, catching light and popping in front of a striking moss-green haven. A simple second set, featuring only a white slip at the water's edge, proves the power just one accessory can have when it comes to elevating a look. The goosebumps also have my heart.

By the end of this shoot, I may or may not have purchased the featured necklace for my own collection...

I first heard from Charlie & Christine when they reached out with a wild idea - they wanted to throw a surprise wedding - in one week.

With determination, skill, and some smooth moves, it went off without a hitch. Family and friends had been invited to an engagement party - only to arrive through the doors of The Tasting Room to see Christine in her wedding gown, and Charlie in his striking blue suit.

I met Alexis at her childhood home on a hot and sunny Florida morning - a choice of location holding deep sentimental value. The celebration of familial bonds became a clear cornerstone. Through the weekend, I heard stories of swimming and boating, full of a fondness for these times together. Surrounded and supported by her sisters and mother in matching feather-trimmed pajamas, Alexis chose a low sleek ponytail highlighted by statement pearl earrings. Family heirloom jewlery was embraced.

My sister got married in this forest I call home, in the autumn when the leaves & the creatures were rather busy. The air in the autumn has always felt full to me. There’s motion that buzzes & pulses & in each breath of autumn air it fills me. I love to be filled with the rhythm of autumn.

A romantic day in the gardens meets a late night on the town.

It was a dream to photograph this editorial at Bavaria Downs, a gem to be found in Chaska, MN. Undoubtedly one of my favorite local venues, Bavaria Downs hosts the Edward Anne Estate, as pictured here, alongside Equestria West. The Edward Anne Estate carries French countryside influence and is situated on 200 acres of expansive, rolling hillside. If you'd wish for a destination wedding in Europe but still want that big bash with all your family and friends, Bavaria Downs is the escape you're looking for.

Inspired by the old-world charm of Bavaria Downs, Hannah & Jered were the featured lovers in this romantic tale. Hannah's bridal look was styled with a feminine floral makeup look, complimented by a long, effortlessly lived-in braid. The lace and tulle of this BHLDN gown was a wonderfully delicate piece and with 3/4 sleeves, added to the nostalgia.
